Welcome to Montgomery Town Council
Montgomery Town Council like all other Councils up and down the country, following the Elections, have now started a new 5 year term in office. As new Mayor of the Town for 2008/2009, I intend to carry on promoting this lovely Mid-Wales town and it's friendly inhabitants. Being the County Town of Montgomeryshire, it is steeped in history, the Civic Society based at the old Bell Museum in Arthurs Street gives a fascinating insight to the social and civic history of Montgomery. Visitors to our town continue to return to soak up it's friendly and charming atmosphere, and also make it thier base whilst pursuing other activities such as walking along Offas Dyke, or making use of the new Cycle Hire Scheme we have in operation, where cycling enthusiasts can choose from one of five different routes in the area, (or all five if they are really energetic)! Montgomery isn't a sleepy little market town. It is a thriving, growing community where everyone from far and wide is welcome as either visitors to the town, or new residents. Our website is updated on a regular basis. All the information you require regarding events, meetings, etc can be found here. So please 'browse' at your leisure, but better still, come and visit Montgomery where you will be made more than welcome
Wendy Davies, Montgomery Mayor
