The Friends of School has joined in the quest to reduce the schools carbon footprint by installing Solar Panels. The Solar Panels have been installed with the assistance of Montgomery Energy Group (MEG) and are owned by the Friends of School. They cost just over £30,000 and are making money for the school every time the sun comes out.
Friends of School has a coffee morning on the 21st June to help raise funds. Any help publicizing this and the panels would be gratefully received. For more information, please contact Montgomery School

Whitegates Pool Tree Planting
On one very windy Saturday morning, the Rangers, Guides, Brownies and Rainbows with their leaders teamed up and planted 100 trees. The trees were kindly donated by the Woodland Trust, tree for all scheme.
This project forms part of the girls Community Service to develop in conjunctions with the Town Council, the Whitegates pool area. The success of this project has been as a result of Dr Evelyn Over, a parent, coordinating getting the trees to the right leaders at the right time.
It was touch and go at one point with the weekend drawing closer and no sign of any trees. The weather forecast was awful and we thought
this may mean a lot of people would not turn up. But as things turned out, everything went to plan, the sun came out, Guides and Rainbows arrived with parents in tow and the 100 trees took just an hour to plant. Please click here or the images to see more photos of the tree planting.
