Launched in 2019 Trefaldwyn Blue is a bold and creamy blue cheese from Wales lovingly produced by hand in small batches. A full flavoured, deliciously moreish cheese that is perfect for sharing with friends, alongside a hoppy craft ale or a tasty port - the ultimate centre piece of any cheese board.
Based in Montgomery in Powys chief cheesemaker and owner Clare Jones developed the recipe over a year, perfecting the making process to deliver a really lovely full flavoured, soft and creamy blue cheese made from pasteurised cow’s milk.
Trefaldwyn Blue is inspired by the stunningly beautiful rural area in which she lives, surrounded by many small dairy farms with rich pastures that produce the very highest quality milk, Clare realised the milk all gets collected and taken away to the large dairies for processing. She also identified the growing movement towards high quality locally made food, with consumers becoming more discerning and wanting to know where their food has come from, what has gone into it and that it is produced ethically.
An instant hit with customers, Trefaldwyn Blue is stocked at a number of delicatessens and other stores as well as being available on the Taste Montgomery stall at Montgomery market.
