Montgomery Wales
Tourism Committee

With its natural attractions of varied, unspoilt landscape, rich cultural heritage and a network of Rights of Way, Montgomery stands in an Outstanding Registered Historic Landscape and the Montgomery economy benefits immensely from tourism.

Two museums, unique shops, a Charter Market, independent catering businesses and local food and drink further enhance the town. The Tourism Committee was established to ensure effective, joined-up promotion; to link in with the wider Mid Wales tourism offer and promotional opportunities; and to be a catalyst to developing a range of events, making Montgomery truly a ‘Town for all Seasons’ for visitors and residents alike.

The Committee consists of four councillors with an interest in tourism development. The monthly meetings are open to the public and we welcome input from the community with ideas for events or promotion by prior arrangement with the Chair or Town Clerk.

The Committee has a small budget from the Precept used for tourism organisation membership, maintenance of the Tourist Information area near the Pound and promotion of events.
