Montgomery Town Council - working hard today for a better tomorrow

Medieval Banquet & Living history encampment at The Castle

Friday night and a packed Hall full of colour and merriment. Henry III and Llywelyn of Wales played host to the people of Montgomery who took so well to the medieval theme of the evening.
Minstrels - Monty community folk band - played medieval tunes throughout the night ending in a full-on Ceilidh dance lead by Claire Weston and Lydia Bassett.
Entertainment from Montgomery very own Jester Mark Harding kept guests entertained and occasionally taken to the stocks to face punishment as a result of, wearing the wrong hat, looking in the wrong direction at the wrong time or just at the fancy of the King.
Excellent medieval food provided by The Dragon Hotels Bistro 7 served by staff from The Dragon Hotel. Also on tap a special edition of Montys 1267 brew – a celebratory beer from our very own local Monty’s Brewery. With contributions from a vast range of local producers from Taste Montgomery and support from Montgomery Town Council, The Dragon Hotel and so many more, local residents were provided with a taste of the sort of high level entertainment that is so typical of Montgomery.

Games, prizes, dancing, good food, good company and candle light.
